Q: What were you doing for work prior to finding FFL and what were you making?
A: I was working as a Finance Director in the automotive industry, and I was making between $250,000-270,000. I usually had to work more than 60 hours per week in order to make that.

Q: Why did you leave your previous positions?
A: I Wanted more out of life for my family. More freedom and the ability to do the things I want at my own leisure is very valuable to me.

Q: What was the biggest adversity that you had to overcome?
A:  The biggest adversity I had to learn to overcome was forcing myself to leave my comfort zone, in order to learn the skill sets that selling insurance requires.

Q: What is the most rewarding aspect of your new career?
A: I think that it’s very gratifying to serve others in the community while simultaneously, being able to provide a good life for your own family.

Q: When did you start working with FFL?
A: I started working with FFL in August of 2018.

Q: What were you doing for work prior to getting started with FFL?
A: I was working at a different insurance agency for a couple of years prior to joining FFL. I decided to leave that company due to low compensation and low quality leads.

Q: Was it easy for you to transition here and make sales?
A: I had a really fast start because what we do here is so simple. But I didn’t take the opportunity as seriously as I should have initially. Then I took a trip to the FFL office and started incorporating travel trips in my business. Once I did that, I really started to ramp up my productivity.

Q: Why do you think travel trips helped you so much?
A: I think because you’re focused, with no distractions. I had just diversified my lead flow and was spending more money on leads than I ever had so I when I travelled there was nothing that could hold me back.

Q: When did you start building your agency?
A: I didn’t really start hiring until mid 2019. I initially wasn’t interested because of bad previous experiences. I was posting a lot about the success I was having and people started organically reaching out to me, so that is what made me interested in building.

Q: What’s your goal for 2021?
A: Personally, I’d like to issue at least $300,000, and for my agency I’d like us to be issuing $750,000 before the year is over.

Jeremy Nichelson

Jeremy is a newer agent who recently made over $13,000 after his first travel trip! Continue reading to learn more about his start with FFL:

Q: What were you doing for work prior to getting started with FFL?
A: I was initially working as a Senior National Director for a 3rd party T-mobile company. After I left them I started my own business in the car dealership industry.

Q: What made you want to get into the insurance industry?
A: Ironically enough when I was 18 yrs. old I was told to look into the insurance industry, but at the time I didn’t believe it was the right fit for me. I ended up seeing Marco Conde’s success online and that caused me to reach out to him.

Q: What were your first few weeks out in the field like?
A: It was a challenge. I saw the opportunity and what was possible here but I wasn’t following the blueprint as closely as I should have been. I wanted to do my own thing and kept trying to recreate things. Eventually I realized that I just needed to follow the success and the system.

Q: When did you realize that you needed to just follow the system?
A: It was actually right after my Nebraska travel trip and over the past few weeks that I’ve had that realization. I was doing way too much door knocking and not dialing the phone enough . I learned that you need to be able to take the emotion out of this business and avoid allowing yourself to become complacent.

Q: What made you want to start taking travel trips?
A: I have a lot of friends and family in Nebraska that I haven’t been able to see for almost two years due to Covid. Because of that, I thought It would be a great opportunity to combine work with family and thankfully I was able to help both friends and clients while in the area.

Q: What is your goal for 2021?
A: It’s a big goal but I’d like to qualify for the Personal Hall of Fame.

Willis Hicks

Willis issued close to $50,000 last month and is at $308,499 YTD. Continue reading to learn more about Willis’s journey with FFL:

Q: When did you start working with FFL?
A: I started working with FFL in December of 2020, so a little over 7 months.

Q: What were you doing for work prior to getting started with FFL?
A: I was working as a UPS driver for 28 years, then I retired and decided to open up my own gym. Unfortunately, due to Covid we had to shut down so I started looking for new opportunities on Linkedin and Craigslist.

Q: What made you want to get involved with insurance?
A: I’ve always loved helping people. Especially after I lost my wife to cancer it was important for me to serve others. I enjoyed having my own gym at the time because it was fun, but there wasn’t a lot of money in it. I was initially turned down by a couple of insurance agencies but thankfully I stumbled onto Family First Life.

Q: Was it easy for you to purchase leads in the beginning?
A: It wasn’t easy at first because I didn’t have a lot of capital when I was getting started, but I understood the importance of investing so I worked at it. Currently I spend around $10,000 per month on leads.

Q: What were your first few weeks out in the field like?
A: I don’t think I got my first sale until my 3rd week. I was getting a lot of “nos” and feeling pretty discouraged. I just kept on plugging into more and more trainings to hear from people who were already having success. I just had to learn the skills and focus on getting better.

Q: What was the most difficult thing for you to learn to overcome?
A: I think that I just had to get the reps in. It was very important for me to learn the right questions to ask the client and how to ask it so that they understand that I’m there to help. I just followed the steps of the agents who were having success before me and tried to duplicate them.

Q: What’s your goal for 2021?
A: Personally, I’d like to issue a million dollars by the end of the year. In regards to my agency, I’d like us to be issuing $500,000 per month.

Mike Curry

Mike is a Platinum Producer and has issued $236,278 YTD! Continue reading to learn more about his quick start with FFL:

Q: When did you start working with FFL?
A: I started selling full time in December of 2020.

Q: What were you doing for work prior to finding FFL?
A: I was working as an Appliance Repairman and I didn’t have any prior sales or insurance experience.

Q: How did you come across FFL?
A: I knew Grady prior to FFL and I kept seeing how successful he was. At that time I also wanted to be able to retire my wife so that she could stay home with our two young children. So it was a combination of wanting more out of life with seeing the income potential here.

Q: Did you feel confident to start out in sales without any prior experience?
A: I was confident in myself to go all in and be obsessed with learning how to be successful. I don’t have any sales experience but I’ve learned from my own physical fitness journey how important discipline and being coachable is in life. I truly believe that anyone can accomplish anything if they’re willing to work hard enough.

Q: Did you have immediate success your first few weeks or did you still go through a learning curve?
A:. I didn’t make any sales my first 10 appointments, but I still ended up being able to issue $26,000 my first 30 days. Everything just eventually falls into place once you put enough time in. You learn as you go and you get more comfortable everyday. I also had Jamie Chirio as an upline that I was able to rely on throughout the process.

Q: What was your lead cost like initially and was it hard for you to invest in leads?
A: I didn’t have any prior business experience but It made complete sense to me that you need to invest money in order to make money. I was initially spending $600-800 per dial day, but then I went to convention and heard all the top producers say that they were spending $1500-$2,000 a week so I decided to start copying what they were doing.

Q: What is your goal for 2021?
A: I would like to minimally qualify for the personal Hall of Fame and have my agency issuing $500,000. I’d also like to add that this past year I was finally able to retire my wife!

Brandon and Teresa Kitchings

Brandon and Teresa started with us in 2019/2020 and their agencies have issued $2,508,765 YTD! Continue reading to learn more about their journey with FFL:

Q: What were you doing for work prior to finding FFL and what were you making?
Teresa: I was in the banking industry for 12 years. I worked as a relationship manager in both the call center and banking center. I made $48,000 a year and would work 40+ hours a week. If overtime was available I could easily squeeze in another 10 hours.
Brandon: I was a loan officer in the same call center as Teresa for 11 years. That’s where we met each other. I made around $84,000 a year working 50 hours/6 days a week.

Q: What made you decide to get started with FFL?
Teresa: I had no aspirations of being in this industry. I was just supporting the career change Brandon made. once I saw how Brandon was helping people not go through what I had experienced with my dad, I felt I should be educating & serving my people and my community too.
Brandon: After losing my father in law in October of 2018 with no life insurance. It made me realize how important life Insurance was. If I could help just one family not go through what we went through that would be amazing, so I decided to explore some opportunities and found FFL.

Q: What was the biggest adversity that you had to overcome?
Teresa: Biggest adversity I had to overcome was getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. I know we hear that a lot but it’s true. This is totally different from what I was used to. But after the first few appointments I realized it’s really not that deep, these people we sit with need us.

Brandon: Biggest adversity for me was trusting the system and not trying to reinvent the wheel. The system FFL has in place is designed to work for WORKERS!

Q: What is the most rewarding aspect of your new career?
Teresa & Brandon: FFL has allowed us to spend more time with our family, travel more than we ever have in our lives, and help families leave legacies not burdens while helping other agents secure their financial future. This business is life changing!

Alondra: I was working as a restaurant server and going to school for Nursing. I worked 40 hours per week and made around $30,000 a year.
Josh: I was working as a bartender and I was an aspiring Correctional Officer for the state. I worked 35-40 hours per week and made $30,000 a year.

Q: Why did you leave your previous positions?
Alondra: I left because I was working too many hours in comparison to the type of pay that I was receiving.
Josh: I decided to leave because I wasn’t happy or fulfilled in my career. I was ready for a “grown up” job but just didn’t know what I wanted to do at first.

Q: What was the biggest adversity that you had to overcome?
Alondra: I think I had to learn how to treat this as a real business as well as protect my schedule at all times.
Josh: I initially had a hard time investing in leads. I was making more money than I had ever made in my life, so it was painful in the beginning to part with that money to invest back into my business.

Q: What is the most rewarding aspect of your new career?
Alondra: The most rewarding thing for me is being able to impact so many people who want an opportunity to better their life and the lives of their family members.

Carliza Gonzalez

Carliza recently re-entered the insurance industry and issued $32, 682 in May! Continue reading to learn more about her journey with FFL:

Q: When did you originally start working in the industry and when did you start working with FFL?
A: I got my insurance license in 2010 but decided to stay at home for a while after I had my second child. Soon afterwards, I started working at a corporate job as a manager until I decided to get back into insurance in the Fall of 2020.

Q: What made you want to get back into the insurance industry?
A: I was tired of having my income capped and I wanted to have a better work/life balance for my kids. I would typically only get around 2 weeks off per year.

Q: Did you start off on a part time or full time basis?
A: I started off on a part time basis in December and only issued around $2,000. Then I spoke with Eric and he advised that I needed to start issuing more if I was going to quit my job. In January and even more so after our convention was when I started producing at a high level consistently.

Q: What was the learning curve like for you since you had prior insurance experience?
A: I still felt like I had to relearn everything and forget about how things used to be in the past. I was accustomed to doing only paper apps whereas now we do everything electronically with new carriers. It took me a while to really become confident in what I was doing and I still second guess myself after a bad day or week. When that I happens I just try to remind myself of what I used to make at my old job compared to what I can make here. That keeps me grounded and allows me to focus on securing a great future for my children.

Q:You’re building an agency as well, how have you been managing that with maintaining your high production?
A: There has to be a lot of sacrifice when it comes to balancing building, selling, and family time. I know that If I want to grow I can’t just focus on myself. But in order to be able to invest into staff I need to maintain my production at a certain level. I don’t take any days off until I hit my sales goals. So even though I have the ability to set my own schedule I’ve been increasing my activity every month in order to achieve my goals.

Q: What’s your goal for 2021?
A: I only have one manager currently and I’d like to help a lot more get to that level. I have many women on my team and I want them all to become successful with building a team. We work in a male dominated industry and women tend to have a lot of responsibilities at home, so I just want to empower them and see them win. I just try to focus on being an example and helping them to grow in any way that I can.

Tori Haskell

Tori is a newer agent and just issued $22,000 last month! Continue reading to learn more about her time with FFL:

Q: What were you doing for work prior to getting started with FFL?
A: Prior to FFL I was selling insurance for a supplemental insurance company for around 4 months. Aside from that I have a little sales experience from selling cars and waitressing.

Q: What made you want to get into the insurance industry?
A: I was looking for more freedom and flexibility. I was about 6 months pregnant when I was working at the car dealership and when I started with FFL I had just finished my maternity leave. I wanted time to spend with my baby and of course the money was a great incentive as well.

Q: Why do you think it was difficult for you to find success selling supplemental insurance?
A: There were a few reasons. My compensation was really low and there was no real system in place to really train me on how to sell. Whereas here with FFL my upline told me what to do step by step. We also didn’t have any leads there and I had to prospect for all of my clientele myself.

Q: What was the learning curve like for you?
A: I don’t think it was too up or too down. I wasn’t overly terrible and I also wasn’t special. I just knew that with practice I’d eventually get better, so I just tried to follow what those before me did in order to be successful. The most difficult thing for me to learn was the concept of it’s not what you say but how you say it. Developing the ability to ask questions that I wouldn’t normally ask someone is what really helped take me to the next level.

Q: What is your goal for 2021?
A: I’d like to get my team to issuing half a million by the end of the year, and qualifying for the Hall of Fame has always been a goal.
