Executive Vice President Mike Shroades is no stranger to hard work. Prior to getting started with Family First Life, Mike was accustomed to working 3 different jobs at a time. He worked for the Department of Commerce monitoring various departments, owned and operated a live auction business, and owned a recyclable scrap metal business.  

Now Mike is leading from the front with his own personal production while also building a quickly growing agency that just had their biggest production month with $808,269.

Working his 3 previous jobs paid him $80,000 for the year and now he’s been able to far surpass that and have more time for his family.

Mike’s success is a testament to “work smarter not harder.”

Integrity Partner and Chairman Council Member Paul Mcclain is one of our favorite examples of this.

With $9,754,715 issued in October, FFL West Coast has issued more in a single month than any other agency in FFL history. They’ve also grown over 91% since January and we don’t see them slowing down anytime soon.

In less than 4 years Board Member Ivan Vedrov has become a 3x Hall of Famer who has personally issued $410,842 YTD. His agency volume has grown over 98% since Jan. 2020 and has issued $8,857,815 YTD. With those kinds of achievements one might assume that success came easy to Ivan but his story is a lot more interesting than that. 

Ivan is originally from Chelyabinsk, Russia and after graduating from college he decided to move to the states. Prior to finding a home at FFL Ivan held over 20 different jobs. He drove for Uber, delivered pizzas, valeted at hospitals, did janitorial work, sold cable door to door, and he even ran a boardwalk costume business. When he did find the financial industry his corporate job only paid him a salary of $30,000 a year. Now he makes more than that in just a single month.

Ivan’s relentless ambition and determination to create a better life for him and his family is an inspiration to us all.

In 2008 Evelyn and Sac were both working outside of the insurance industry. Evelyn was working as an HR manager making around $75,000 per year, and Sac was working as an account manager making around $150,000. Even though their salaries weren’t low Sac wanted to be able to work in an industry where his income potential wouldn’t be capped and he didn’t have to work 50 hours per week. Evelyn was also interested in other opportunities because she wanted to be able to be her own boss and build an empire alongside her husband.

13 years later they found FFL and the rest is history. Evelyn finished 2020 as a 1st time hall of famer, and Sac’s agency building helped qualify them as Vice Presidents! When they’re not helping families with insurance they also spend their time pastoring to their congregation at “The Gathering at the Garden Church”.

The financial abundance that FFL can provide is one of the reasons why people work here. But the financial freedom and flexibility to be uncapped and spend more of your time doing the things that you love in life is equally desirable to many. When agents meet Executive Vice President Domonique Rodgers, they often assume that he’s been working in the financial industry for years. What many don’t know is that Domonique Rodgers never had a job prior to getting into the insurance industry.

Domonique was a full time student at North Carolina State and played outfield for their division 1 baseball team. His initial goal was to play in the major leagues until life re-directed him to an insurance agent opportunity. Years later he’s quickly approaching board member status by leading an agency that has grown over 108% just this past year and has issued $6,727,127 YTD.

Domonique is the perfect example of not needing prior work history to experience success with the FFL model.

Most agents here at FFL only know the Andrew Taylor on the right. The Senior Council Member of FFL USA, one of FFL’s largest and quickest growing agencies. What many don’t know is that Andrew had a very different background prior to getting into the insurance industry.

Andrew was working at a grocery store as a bagger making $7.50 an hour. He then became an agent, worked his way into the Hall of Fame issuing $400,000 a year, and now his agency’s on track to issue pay 50 million in 2020. Best of all, Andrew has a passion for helping his fellow agents reach the same level of success. He now has 20 VPs in his organization and we expect that number to double in 2021.

Andrew is a prime example of what consistent hard work and selfless leadership can amount to.
