Changing Lives

Frankie and Jaime Eufemia

In the early 2000’s Frankie was leading a successful and lucrative career in the mortgage industry. He was a Branch Owner of a mortgage company and was making around $250,000 per year. Unfortunately due to the banking industry crash in 2008 his company was greatly impacted, and he and Jaime almost lost everything they had worked for.
Shortly after, in search of a more stable industry Frankie started working as a life insurance agent with a different IMO. However, due to various business practices the financial situation there wasn’t any better than his previous company. In 2013 Frankie and Jaime heard about Family First Life and decided to go all in. Frankie initially struggled with not allowing his emotions to control him or his business, but with time and mentorship he was able to overcome that obstacle while he and his agency continued to grow.
8 years later Frankie and Jaime have been able to reach Board Member status with their agency FFL National issuing over $4.5 million YTD! Despite their success Frankie feels that the most rewarding aspect of working with FFL has been watching others accomplish more for their families than they ever dreamt possible, as well as the personal development that he’s been able to witness in them. They’re also now in a financial position to be able to give back to communities that are in need. They’ve been able to provide continuous support to an Orphanage called Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministry in Roatan Honduras. They’ve even had fellow agents on their team start to donate as well.
It’s amazing to see the personal and business growth that Frankie and Jaime have gone through these past 8 years. We know that they will continue to reach new milestones and be a blessing to everyone around them.

Charles Hines

Charles has grown immensely these past few months and has issued $216,951 in only 14 weeks! Continue reading to learn more about his time with FFL:

Q: What were you doing for work prior to getting started with FFL?
A: I started working with FFL in June 2016. Prior to that I was working with a different insurance agency.

Q: Why did you decide to switch over to FFL?
A: I was struggling at my previous company and I was working as a captive agent. My highest compensation level was a 12%.

Q: You’ve really ramped up your production lately. What lead to that change?
A: The biggest thing is probably having a child. Knowing that there’s someone out there that is depending on me. It forced me to start taking this business more seriously. I also started to invest more into my business whereas before I was a lot stingier with my money. Especially with my lead purchases. I was spending around $1,000 a week and now I’m spending around $1800-$2400 a week.

Q: Why do you think it was difficult to invest a lot into purchasing leads initially?
A: I think it was primarily a fear of it just not working out and potentially putting myself into a hole financially. I wasn’t completely confident in the concept of going all in yet. Once I started doing it and I saw that I was actually producing more I wasn’t fearful anymore.

Q:What type of leads are you typically working?
A: My favorite type of lead is usually mortgage protection but I wouldn’t have been able to hit my recent numbers without incorporating instant internet leads.

Q:Your agency ‘s production is also growing, what have you been doing differently?
A: I think that they’ve been watching my production increase recently so they take me more seriously. They see me on the leaderboard and leading from the front and know that any advice I give is from experience. I’ve been finding new hires in my actual appointments whether it’s the actual client or their relative.

Q: What’s your goal for 2021?
A: My personal goal is to issue a million dollars and have my agency at $500,000 by December.

Q: What’s your one piece of advice to an agent who’s been with us for a while but is stuck at the same level?
A: If you’ve plateaued it’s because you’ve become too comfortable. I’d suggest you do the next thing that makes you uncomfortable in this business. Also, I know people say it a lot but the I think the overall best thing is to listen to podcasts and follow someone that you’d like to emulate.

Robert Kakish

Robert qualified as a Vice President in March 2021 and has personally issued $100,000 YTD! Continue reading to learn more about his journey with FFL:

Q: When did you start working with FFL?
A: I started in August of 2020.

Q: What were you doing for work prior to finding FFL?
A: I was working as a Finance Director in the auto industry. I was working 70 hour weeks and getting home late at night so I wanted to look into new opportunities.

Q: How did you come across FFL?A: I had been recruited by other IMOs before but FFL was my first experience in the insurance industry. My friend Bruce who I knew from the car industry showed me his bank statements. He then explained the opportunity to me which was clear cut and made a lot of sense. It actually seemed too good to be true initially but I decided to just go all in. My first month I was able to deposit $25,000.

Q: Did you have immediate success your first few weeks or did you still go through a learning curve?
A: I did have a learning curve in the beginning but I just really trusted the process. I followed the FFL blueprint and made sure to not overthink it and the results paid off.

Q: What was your lead strategy like in the beginning and how has it changed since then?
A: Initially I was spending around $500-600 per week and now I’m spending between $1500-$2000 a week. When you increase your lead flow you also increase your production.

Q: What has your travel strategy been?
A: For the past 17 weeks straight I’ve been traveling to a new city in a new state to run business. I could get leads in So Cal but I’m able to write more business in a smaller period of time when I go on a travel trip. I also started using the hashtag “All American Tour” in December 2020 and that’s allowed me to market what we do and hire through social media.

Q: What is your goal for 2021?
A: I’m currently on track to qualify for the Hall of Fame so I’d like to make sure I hit that goal. I’d also like my agency to be issuing a million per month by December.

Q: What is your one piece of advice to new agents struggling with the idea of travel trips?
A: My advice would be to be self-aware of who you are, reach out to others who are doing it, trust in the process and know that you’ll be tripling your access to leads.

Theresa Marro Prendota

Theresa is one of the hardest working and most coachable agents that we have.
In 2012 Theresa was working at the Harbor Bistro restaurant in East Hampton, NY. She worked seasonally as the General Manager and oversaw around 35 employees. After bonuses she was able to make around $100,000 per season but she had to work many 12 hour days. After 35 years she decided to retire from the restaurant business so that she could move back to Las Vegas and marry her husband.
In 2015 Theresa found FFL and decided to go all in. She faced some adversity but was able to get through it by figuring out her lead strategy, and learning how to overcome objections.
At 61 years young Theresa is proud of being able to excel and become a top agent later in life. One of her most proud moments was the respect and recognition she got from her own children when they saw her qualify for the Hall of Fame. However, her most fulfilling aspect of working with FFL is seeing a brand new agent make their first sale and get paid. Theresa is a testament to what hard work, coachability, and the right opportunity can amount to.

Destiny Cowins

Destiny has been issuing over $30,000 primarily off of CRM leads! Continue reading below to learn about her journey with FFL:

Q: When did you start working with FFL?
A: I’ve been working here for the past 2 years.

Q: Have you been working with us on a full time or part time basis?
A: I was working primarily on a part time basis but still running a full time schedule. So I would work for a few months and then take some time off.

Q: What has changed recently that has allowed you to start issuing more?
A: I just started to be way more consistent. I was working but my schedule wouldn’t be the same every week. After January I started to get more serious about maintaining a higher level of consistency.

Q: What does your lead flow typically look like?
A: I like to have at least 150-200 new leads every dial day. Most of the leads that I like to primarily work off of are the new and 1-3 month old Internet leads in the CRM. My weekly lead cost is typically between $1200-2000 per week. In the beginning it was hard for me to spend that because I was scared. Eventually I realized that the more I spent the more I would issue.

Q: What’s the biggest struggle that you had to learn to overcome?
A: Coming from a W-2 position I had to learn how to be able to work on my own. Not getting a paycheck every week was scary at first but I learned that you have to be consistent in order to not run into any problems.

Q: What is your goal for 2021?
A: I would like to hit Hall of Fame status and I’d like my agency to be over $300,000 and qualify for VP status by the end of the year.

Kedlyn Colon

kedlyn is a new agent that is issuing $20,000 per month. Continue reading to learn more about her start with FFL:

Q: When did you start working with FFL?
A: I started working with FFL 4 months ago.

Q: What were you doing for work prior to finding FFL?
A: I was working as a manager in the hospitality industry.

Q: What made you decide to go into the insurance industry?
A: I had worked my way up to as high as I could go in my company but I wanted more. I had never done commission based sales before so I was scared at first but I decided to just go all in. Once I understood the full opportunity I immediately quit my job.

Q: How does your current income compare to your past income?
A: I’m definitely making way more money now. I used to make around $3,000 per month and now I can make that from just one policy. My biggest issue paid month was around $23,000.

Q: Was it difficult for you to learn how to sell insurance with no prior insurance knowledge?
A: Thankfully, I already understood the importance of having life insurance because I’ve had my own policy since I was 18. But I still went through a lot of challenges my first few weeks that I had to learn to overcome. My first few appointments were definitely really nerve-wracking.

Q: What motivated you to get through that initial learning phase without quitting?
A: I wanted it so bad that I didn’t focus on the process, I focused on knowing the results would come. I just really wanted it to happen to be able to help out my family so I pushed through.

Q: What is your goal for 2021?
A: Personally I would like to issue $400,000 and qualify for the Hall of Fame, and I’d also like my agency to reach Hall of Fame status.

Q: What is your one piece of advice for a new agent who also doesn’t have prior insurance experience?
A: I would tell them not to say no to the opportunity, because you’re really just saying no to yourself. Even though it can seem scary you should give it your all and find out whether or not it’s a good fit for you.

Jessica Powers

Jessica is a consistent top producer and her agency FFL Aspire just issued over $1,195,302.28 in only 12 weeks! Continue reading below to learn more about her journey with FFL:

Q: What were you doing for work prior to getting started with FFL?
A: I was working as a surgical tech and I had also worked with other IMO’s before in the past.

Q: Why did you decide to switch over to FFL?
A: I was skeptical at first but my husband convinced me to look into it and attend the convention. After that event I quit my job the next day and decided I was going to jump into this full time.

Q: What were your first few weeks out in the field like?
A: They weren’t great, I think I issued around $4,000 my first month. It really took me the full 90 days to start feeling really comfortable and issuing over 20k consistently.

Q: What did you struggle with that you learned to overcome in order to have better results?
A: I had to learn to understand the importance of purchasing leads and the importance of being on the phone. Dials make up so much of our business that it’s necessary to get good at it in order to be successful. I also just learned to be comfortable with getting uncomfortable. I drive at least 2 hours to my appointments which wasn’t comfortable at first but I knew that I couldn’t hit the numbers that I wanted with only running in my backyard.

Q:What do you typically spend on leads?
A: In the beginning it was hard because we had about $300 to our name. I used to only get some aged mortgage protection and final expense leads. Now I get anything that I can get my hands on. I’m typically spending anywhere from $1500-2,000 per week.

Q:How did you maintain staying even keel during those first 90 days when you were still learning?
A: I think it’s all about the law of large numbers. The less numbers you have the riskier everything is going to be. If I only have 5 appointments for the day then It’s going to be rough on me mentally, but I also put in a lot of work outside of FFL to improve my mindset. I watch a lot of videos on it and and even plug into Dave Anderson’s course.

Q: What’s your goal for 2021?
A: My focus is really on growing our agency and getting to board member status. I know that if we help others get to where they want to be then we’ll get to where we want to be as well.

Q: What’s your one piece of advice to a new agent who is struggling and considering quitting?
A: I’d ask if they are really putting in the work and taking this opportunity seriously. If you’re not getting good results then it’s because of you. You have to treat this like a business, not a hobby. We get paid extremely well so you have to understand that to get that result it can’t just be easy.

Joshua Locklear

Joshua and his agency FFL Soldiers just qualified for VP status in March! Continue reading to learn more about his time with FFL:

Q: When did you start working with FFL?
A: I started with FFL a week after our 2020 convention.

Q: What were you doing for work prior to finding FFL?
A: I was working at a different IMO and prior to that I served in the Army for 20 years.

Q: What made you decide to go into the insurance industry after leaving the Army?
A: I was speaking with a friend about trying to figure out what to do next. I didn’t think that I had a lot of education or a skillset that I could use outside the army. She asked me if I had ever thought about getting started in the insurance industry. I didn’t initially think it would be a good fit since I don’t consider myself to be a salesperson but, I eventually decided to give it a try and ended up becoming a top agent at my prior company.

Q: Why did you leave your previous IMO even though you were successful there ?
A: I was really burnt out on the way they structured their system. They don’t pay the agents well enough and the premiums were overpriced for the clients.

Q: Did you still go through a learning curve since you already had insurance experience?
A: The learning curve for me was understanding that I don’t have to know everything about everything. Success came with putting in the work and stacking the numbers in my favor. My mindset wasn’t great in the beginning and that was something I had to learn to overcome.

Q: What was wrong with your mindset initially?
A: I was just too focused on trying to learn everything. Every product, every objection, every client situation etc. Dom and Chantal told me to just trust them but it took me a while initially because I didn’t know them and they didn’t know me. I’d say it took me about 6 weeks to really just start trusting them and then I was consistently issuing over $20,000 every month.

Q: What did you typically spend on leads in the beginning and what do you spend now?
A: At my previous company I was actually nicknamed “Free Leads” because I never bought leads and only worked off of door-knocking and referrals. I tried to do that here because I didn’t want to spend more than $400 at first. Dom told me that If I wasn’t willing to spend money on leads here then I would never be a top producer. I listened to him and I saw the results come. Now I spend around $3,000 a week for myself and around $1,000 for my agents. I’m not nervous about it anymore because if you put the work in you’ll always get something out of your purchase.

Q: What is your goal for 2021?
A: Personally I would like to issue $400,000 hit hall of fame, and agency wise I’d like us to be issuing $400,000 by the end of the year.

Q: What is your one piece of advice for a new agent who’s purchased leads but isn’t seeing success yet and wants to quit?
A: I would tell them to trust the system, trust themselves, and increase your activity. You have to treat this like a real business and carry yourself like an adult. You only have two options, you either figure it out or you quit. You just have to choose.

Jermaine Clifford

Over the past 5 years Jermaine has been able to create a successful career for himself without any prior insurance experience!
Before finding FFL, Jermaine was working as a full time Uber driver after being laid off from his previous sales job. He was working around 50-70 hours per week in order to make around $5,000 per month. He quickly decided that he needed to move onto something else so that he could make more money to provide for his family.
When he started with FFL he was faced with challenges that he needed to learn to overcome. His biggest adversity was overcoming his fear of failure. He at times wondered if a career with FFL would even work and give him with the type of financial security he was seeking. Due to Jermaine’s consistency and hard work his results quickly began to exceed his expectations.
In a short period of time Jermaine’s been able to become a top producer and build an agency that just qualified for VP status in March! Even though his personal financial gains have had a huge impact on Jermaine and his family, his favorite aspect of working with FFL is the joy of helping to provide his clients with a peace of mind, as well as helping his agency reach their own financial goals. We can’t wait to see the continued growth from Jermain and FFL Impact.

Q: How long have you been working with FFL?
A: I’ve been working with FFL for around 6 months.

Q: What were you doing prior to getting started here?
A: I was working at a different life insurance agency, and I’ve been in the insurance industry for around 3 years.

Q: Did you still experience a learning curve even though you had sold insurance before?
A: Yes I did because we had a different system. We would buy leads but I had to door knock a lot of them in order to meet with them. Booking appointments was a new skillset that I had to learn here.

Q: What has helped you increase your production in recent weeks?
A: I’ve become really good at getting referrals from clients. I’ve also been able to learn how to mix up and diversify my lead flow. I used to only get CRM leads, but now I also utilize all of our different Facebook lead vendors as well as Direct Mail Drops.

Q: Do you plan on building an agency?
A: Yes I do plan on starting that soon and I’ve already hired one person. I want to be able to start issuing between 40k-50k per month so that I can be in a strong position to grow my agency.

A: My goal for 2021 is to issue over $400,000 and qualify for the Hall of Fame.
